Technological Support for Vipassana Centers Worldwide

In the early days, if you wanted to find out about Vipassana meditation or apply to join a course, you had to write a letter, send it off by postal mail, and then wait and wait for a reply.

That started to change in 1995, when the Dhamma.org domain name was purchased. Shortly after that, the website made its debut. Since then, it has become indispensable for millions of people around the world who want information about Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. In 2025 Dhamma.org helped over 900,000 people find and apply for courses of all types in 50-plus languages, choosing from over 10,000 courses in more than 300 locations and more than 100 countries.

Today centers worldwide rely on a variety of technology resources including dhamma.org mobile app, center websites, emails, online collaboration tools and productivity platforms, registration systems, media systems, systems for managing center operations, to name just a few.  These systems, whether licensed through a 3rd party service provider or built in-house by volunteer old students, require ongoing maintenance and infrastructure support.

The purpose of VCF's Technology Fund is to help centers and technology teams with these ongoing needs. Donors can direct their dana either for specific (i.e. a specific system for a specific center or a region), or for general purpose technology support.
