Help Support the Continuation of Vipassana Courses in Jordan

Seeds of Dhamma are taking root in Jordan. With steady support, courses there can continue and grow.

Jordan Vipassana began offering non-center courses in 2025, starting with a small number of students and limited local serving support. Jordan does not yet have a permanent Vipassana center, so courses are held at a rented site in the historic city of Salt, near Amman.

How the courses began

In 2025, two 10-day courses and one 3-day course were held, with early support from old students in Japan and Australia. In 2026, another 10-day course welcomed 20 students. Both student numbers and the local serving community have grown since the first course.

Where things stand

Jordan Vipassana is still at an early stage, with no permanent center and no accumulated danā fund to draw on for future courses. Costs vary with the number of students and the venue arrangements. The most recent 10-day course was covered in part by the generous support of the local course organizers.

Despite the difficult situation in the region, Jordan remains safe for conducting courses. Having Vipassana available in this part of the Middle East provides an important opportunity for students in Jordan and the wider region to experience Dhamma.

What danā supports

Jordan Vipassana welcomes both one-time and ongoing danā. Steadier support would allow courses to be offered more regularly and to more students.

Danā for Jordan Vipassana helps cover:

  • Rent for the course site

  • Food and accommodation for students and servers

  • Course supplies and day-to-day operating costs

  • Teacher travel and visa costs, when needed

Offer danā

The VCF serves as a bridge, helping international old students direct danā to Jordan Vipassana alongside the giving of the local community. Offerings of any size are welcome.

Any support in helping Dhamma continue to grow in Jordan is deeply appreciated. With mettā, for the benefit of many.
