Support Dhamma Atala in Italy
In May 2023, Dhamma Atala endured severe flooding, disrupting courses and causing significant damage to the center’s infrastructure. Since then, the generosity of old students has raised over €25,000 for recovery efforts, enabling essential restoration and helping keep the center accessible to meditators across Italy.
The progress at Dhamma Atala has been substantial up to this point:
Planning and preparing earthworks for the Dhamma Hall and access road
Stabilization of the land around the Dhamma Hall
Rebuilding and reinforcing the road and hill
However, following the near completion of the road repairs in July 2023, another flood partially damaged the road again. Dhamma Atala is now engaged in a dispute with contractors to resolve issues around this setback while minimizing further expenses.
Current Status and Next Steps
With the community’s continued support, the road is currently accessible to small vehicles, though public transportation is recommended. While progress is being made, this path of restoration reflects both resilience and the shared volition of our Dhamma community.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
Thanks to your dana, Dhamma Atala remains a refuge for growth and practice. We are deeply grateful for the mettā and steadfast support from meditators near and far. Updates will be shared as efforts continue, and we look forward to the day we can celebrate a fully restored Dhamma Atala together.
