Support the expansion plan for Dhamma Vikasa in Taiwan
In 2008, a second Vipassana meditation center was established in Taiwan. Goenkaji named this center Dhamma Vikasa, meaning "Progress of Dhamma," with the hope that it would continue to turn the Wheel of Dhamma and develop into an international Vipassana long course center capable of hosting 30, 45, and 60-day courses.
The design concept of Dhamma Vikasa is to build well-spaced independent single cottages and Pagoda cells, closely adhering to the meditation environment described by the Buddha in the Mahasatipatthana Sutta—"in the forest, under a tree, in a quiet and solitary place." This allows each meditator who comes here to practice diligently as if they were alone, undisturbed, and thus derive the greatest benefit from the Dhamma.
Thanks to the sponsorship and support of countless old students, the first phase of the project was completed in 2011, including a Dhamma hall for 85 people and 47 single cottages with attached bathrooms for male and female students. The current expansion plan features a Pagoda with 120 independent single cells (each measuring 1.5 x 2.2 x 3.9 meters in height), as well as a three-story office building providing the necessary mechanical, electrical, and office facilities for the entire center.
Dhamma Vikasa Trust is now seeking approximately US$1.85 million in donations and loans to complete the remaining work.
Take a moment to reflect on the profound transformation you experienced through your Vipassana practice and imagine how many more lives could be positively changed by your support for this project. Together, we can spread the light of Dhamma!
