Supporting Dhamma Janani’s expansion project to realize their new master plan.
The Lumbini Vipassana Center (Dhamma Janani) in Nepal is beginning a major expansion and overhaul of its center. This is an important effort given that Dhamma Janani (meaning the Mother of Dhamma) is situated at the birthplace of Prince Siddhartha who later became Gotama the Buddha. Many students come to sit and serve in Lumbini in their desire to benefit from the strong Dhamma atmosphere of this sacred place.
As part of the center expansion/overhaul, Dhamma Janani recently received a new tract of land north of the existing center. As a result, Dhamma Janani is now embarking on launching a major construction effort via a new master plan.
The first phase (currently underway) requires filling in the soil of the land and constructing a boundary wall. Thereafter there are plans to construct a new meditation hall, pagoda, discourse halls, dining halls, residential blocks with single and double rooms, teachers' rooms, and kitchen, plus a separate campus for visitors and short courses with a meditation hall, exhibition gallery, guest house, staff quarters and office.
The cost of this project is estimated at $2.8M dollars with the vision of significantly increasing the current center’s capacity of 19-20 courses and 800-1000 students per year. Interested donors are welcome to join in helping Dhamma Janani achieve this vision to benefit many old as well as new students*.
