Support the Growing Impact of Dhamma Nandanavana
Dhamma Nandanavana, meaning “Paradise of Dhamma,” is a serene Vipassana meditation center nestled in nature near Bogotá, Colombia. This peaceful sanctuary provides the ideal environment for individuals from all walks of life to learn and practice Vipassana, finding the path to liberation.
Expanding Access to Dhamma
We are now at a pivotal moment in the center’s journey: increasing its capacity from 42 to 104 students to meet the growing demand.
Since 1998, the first non-center Vipassana courses have been held near Bogotá. Over the past twenty years, this initiative has enabled the formation of a large Sangha, well prepared to expand the spread of the Dhamma throughout Colombia. As a result, in 2019 the Dhamma Nandanavana Center opened and began offering thirteen courses per year, with capacities ranging from 25 to 37 students—allowing approximately 420 students to attend annually.
There is currently very high demand for all courses. Over the years it has been observed that within just thirty minutes, course registrations are filled and enrollment is closed. Colombian students have had to wait up to five years to access Vipassana courses—and some are still waiting for a spot!
In response, during 2025–2026 the Dhamma Nandanavana Trust plans to triple the number of students per year by increasing course capacity from 42 to 104 participants (80 of whom are students). Additionally, the plan is to offer 20 meditation courses annually, including 10-day courses, 3-day courses, and one Satipatthana Sutta course per year. Furthermore, Dhamma Nandanavana will be able to start offering long courses with adequate accommodation by the end of 2025. All this advancement would allow Dhamma Nandanavana to reach 1,700 students next year, translating to nearly 10,000 students over the next seven years.
A shared Vision
May more and more people benefit from the practice of Vipassana.
To fulfil this vision, we are committed to wisely utilizing the center’s resources, strengthening Dhamma service, and enhancing infrastructure to support both new and old students.
Progress and the Path Forward
Thanks to the generosity of the community, significant progress has already been made. Low construction costs and strong community support have helped bring this vision closer to reality. A dedicated team of servers, guided by the Trust and 12 committees, is working in harmony to complete the next phase of development.
